Everyone in Key Stage 3 learns through the Curriculum for Wales. We made avatars to help pupils remember and use the four core purposes:
- Ambitious Alex: ambitious, capable learners
- Enterprising Ellie: enterprising, creative contributors
- Healthy Harri: healthy, confident individuals
- Ethical Enfys: ethical, informed citizens
The six areas of learning
- Languages, literacy and communication
- Mathematics and numeracy
- Science and technology, including coding, robotics, design technology, ICT and automotive
- Humanities
- Expressive arts, including art and drama
- Health and wellbeing
Across all of these we teach the cross-cutting themes: Wales and the wider world, relationships and sexuality education (RSE), careers and the world of work, and children’s rights.
Immersion days
Everyone gets a say in what they learn. On immersion mornings pupils explore a topic and help shape what comes next.
