Maesgwyn is a UNICEF UK Rights Respecting School. Pupils learn about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the rights in it shape our relationships, our classrooms and our school council.
How it works day to day
- Right of the month: each month the whole school focuses on one article of the Convention.
- Rights holders and duty bearers: pupils learn that every child holds rights, and that adults have a duty to protect them.
- Pupil voice: the school council helps decide what matters and what changes.
